Bavol, the spirit of the wind, can be an equally kind and formidable spirit. When someone I knew had their office blown down by the wind (a notice on what remained of the dwelling said, "The wind huffed and puffed and blew my office down), "I felt inspired to write this track about the powerful nature of the wind, which humans once naturally honoured. There is, after all, precious little any of us can do about the wind's strength when he decides to blow a forceful gale.
Perhaps the Bitee Fokee woodland folk understand this and are not so much victims of the wind as humans are. The woodland folk find their way onto this track, simply amused at the power of the greater spirits - well, they can afford to be amused! But this is how woodland folk used to be, and we mortals honoured their power too in days gone by. Perhaps this track is about the way we used to honour all spirits, especially Bavol, the spirit of the wind.
lyrics
Let the wind blow now, let the wind blow all around
Let the wind blow now, let the wind blow all around
And I will huff and puff and I will blow your house down
I will huff and puff as I consign it to the ground
I will huff and puff and I will blow your house right down
I will huff and puff as I consign it to the ground.
Oh, let the wind blow now, let the wind blow all around
Let the wind blow now, let the wind blow all around
And I will huff and puff and I will blow your house down
I will huff and puff as I consign it to the ground
Hear me huff and puff as I blow your house right down
Hear me huff and puff as I consign it to the ground.
Let the wind blow...
Let the wind blow. Bavol’s wind blow. The wind blow.
Step up to dance and feel the rhythm in me, rhythm in me...
Step up to dance and feel the rhythm in me, rhythm in me...
Let the wind blow now, let the wind blow all around
Let the wind blow now, you cannot keep me out
I will huff and puff and I will blow your house down
I will huff and puff as I blow it to the ground
Hear me huff and puff as I blow your house right down
Hear me huff and puff as I consign it to the ground.
Let the wind blow. Bavol’s wind blow. Hear the wind blow.
Step up to dance and feel the rhythm in me, rhythm in me...
Step up to dance and feel the rhythm in me, rhythm in me...
I am something of an activist with my music & literature. As an indigenous Rom Gypsy my cultural and artistic work explores
the highs and lows of life/soul. I champion tribal origins, and the underdog in our modern times. I am tired of what this society tends to throw at us, especially innocent folk. I believe the awesome beauty of nature & the arts remains our only hope in this chaotic world....more
