This track is very much about the old gods, or old spirits, and how they are forgotten now in our modern times. This track is certainly a protest song, especially as it begins with the folk song, which gives thanks, respect and praise to Ravnos, Kam, Shon and Puv (Sky, Sun, Moon and Earth), as used to happen in earlier times. Parava (spiritual transformation) features within the song, and the lyrics express the fact that the human race has fallen apart and the wild gods have been reduced to a "human stew". Earth is now seen as a bit of a "fairyland, a theme park, or a zoo", but there's a song in the cosmos, there for one and all, if only we allow ourselves the humility to tap into it.
lyrics
Parava, Parava...
Ravnos is waiting, Ravnos is smiling
Parava, parava...
Mo Devlesko Ravnos, mo dikimangro (my sacred sky spirit, you are my reflection)
Kam, Shon and Puv travel through the same chorus of the folk song.
It’s awful to say this, but it’s fallen apart
If you can see this, then you'll know in your heart
That the gods are angrier than they’ve ever been
And this is the worst mess that they’ve ever seen
What would they say if they looked down from the sky
They’d say this kid’s stuff is fine, "But we ain’t got the fucking time!"
There’s a song in the cosmos, and it’s there for one and all
They sent us Jesus, but we just ran out of control
This isn’t a fairyland, a theme park, or a zoo
The wild gods have faded, into a human stew
So what would they say if they looked down from the sky
They’d say all this is fine, "But we ain’t got the fucking time!"
Ravnos is waiting, he dare not speak of fate
Kam is still yawning, at our uninitiated state
It isn’t fair that the gorgeous Shon should not know what to do
While Puv is still at her cauldron and her mind is set on you
What would these guys say if they looked down from the sky
They’d say this kid’s stuff is all very fine, "But we ain’t got the fucking time!"
I am something of an activist with my music & literature. As an indigenous Rom Gypsy my cultural and artistic work explores
the highs and lows of life/soul. I champion tribal origins, and the underdog in our modern times. I am tired of what this society tends to throw at us, especially innocent folk. I believe the awesome beauty of nature & the arts remains our only hope in this chaotic world....more
